Song of the Day: A Change is Gonna Come

220px-ACIGCcoverWhat can I say about such an iconic piece of music? Other than that A Change Is Gonna Come is still as relevant today as it was when Sam Cooke first recorded it in 1964.

It’s become an anthem, performed at various historic ceremonies. This includes the performance by Betty LaVette and Jon Bon Jovi on the eve of President Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration. Where 45 years later, a Civil Rights anthem was being performed on the eve of the first black man becoming president of that same country that saw Sam Cooke endure prejudices.

It’s still just as beautiful today.
